What you'll learn

Test your readiness for the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam with 225 questions across five full-length practice tests.
Work through the seven domains of the May 2026 exam guide at their official weights, including Lakeflow Jobs, CI/CD and troubleshooting.
Understand every answer: each option has its own feedback and each question an overall explanation with a link to the official documentation.
Build up from short recall questions to a timed full-length simulation, so exam pace is something you have practised rather than guessed.
Find your weak domain from the per-domain score report and revise where the gap actually is, instead of rereading what you already know.
Learn the current terminology of Lakeflow Jobs, declarative pipelines and bundles, which replaced the names used in older exam material.

Course Description

Can you pass it today? That is the only question these tests answer, and they answer it five times, with a score per domain so you know exactly where the gap is.

This course contains 225 questions across five full-length practice tests of 45 questions each, the same number of scored questions as the real exam. Every test follows the domain weights published in the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam guide as of 4 May 2026: Databricks Intelligence Platform 6%, Data Ingestion and Loading 21%, Data Transformation and Modeling 22%, Working with Lakeflow Jobs 16%, Implementing CI/CD 10%, Troubleshooting Monitoring and Optimization 10%, and Governance and Security 15%.

That date matters more than it usually would. The exam guide was rewritten in May 2026, from five loosely defined sections into seven weighted domains. CI/CD became a domain of its own, covering Git folders, bundles and the Databricks CLI. Troubleshooting, monitoring and optimization became another, covering run history, the Spark UI, skew, spill, liquid clustering and predictive optimization. Orchestration is now Lakeflow Jobs, declarative pipelines carry the Lakeflow name, Repos are Git folders, and Databricks Asset Bundles are Declarative Automation Bundles. Older question banks were written against the Delta Live Tables era and test sections that no longer carry the same weight, with names the current documentation no longer uses.

The five tests build. Test 1 is groundwork: short recall questions, one concept each. Test 2 puts you in short practical scenarios and makes you separate features that are easy to confuse. Test 3 is about trade-offs, where two answers look right and a single constraint decides. Test 4 goes to parameters, defaults, limits and exact syntax. Test 5 is a timed full-length simulation with the longest scenarios, mixed domains and a faster pace than the real exam.

Every answer option carries its own feedback saying why it is right or, when it is wrong, what that option actually is. Every question also has an overall explanation with a link to the official Databricks documentation, so you can read further at the source rather than take our word for it. Your result is broken down per domain, and the pass mark is set at 80% for tests 1 to 4 and 85% for test 5, deliberately above what the real exam requires.

These are practice tests and explanations, not a video course and not a substitute for hands-on work in a workspace. They contain no real exam questions. Used alongside the free Databricks learning material and a free edition workspace, they tell you when you are ready to book.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these real exam questions?
No. All questions are original and based on the official exam objectives. They match the style, difficulty and topic weighting of the real exam, without copying it.

How do the five practice tests work?
The tests increase in difficulty. Start with Practice Test 1 to find your weak areas, study those topics and move on. Practice Test 5 is the hardest and serves as a final check before your exam.

Can I review my answers?
Yes. After each attempt you can review every question, with a detailed explanation of why the correct answer is right and why the other options are wrong.

What score should I aim for?
Each test has a passing score in line with the real exam. Aim for consistent scores of 85% or higher before booking your exam. You can retake every test as often as you like.

Are the questions up to date?
Yes. The questions follow the current official exam objectives and are updated when the exam changes.

Is this course enough to pass the exam?
These tests check your readiness and show your knowledge gaps. Combine them with the official learning materials and hands-on practice for the best results.

Who this course is for:

  • Data engineers and analytics engineers preparing for the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam, and anyone who has done the reading and now wants to know whether it stuck. Software engineers, ETL developers and BI developers moving into lakehouse work. Data analysts and platform administrators who work next to Databricks pipelines and want the credential to formalise what they already do. Students and career changers targeting a first data engineering role, who need a structured way to check their own progress. This is also for anyone who studied with older material. The exam guide was rewritten as of 4 May 2026: it now has seven domains with published weights, and it adds whole sections that did not exist before, including Lakeflow Jobs, CI/CD with bundles and the Databricks CLI, and troubleshooting, monitoring and optimization. The terminology changed too, from Delta Live Tables and Workflows and Repos to the Lakeflow names, Git folders and Declarative Automation Bundles. Question banks written before that date test a version of the exam you will not sit. What this is: 225 questions with per-option feedback and a sourced explanation for every question, built against the current exam guide. What this is not: a video course, a lab environment, or a set of real exam questions. Nobody who sells you real exam questions is helping you, and Databricks does not publish an official practice exam for this certification.
